Implant Restoration.

An implant restoration is the artificial tooth — a crown, bridge, or denture — that attaches to the top of a dental implant already placed and healed in the jaw. The implant acts as the root; the restoration is the visible tooth.

If an existing implant restoration is damaged, loose, or worn, it needs attention before the problem spreads to the implant or the bone underneath.

What to expect

Once an implant has healed, we design and fabricate the crown, bridge, or denture that attaches to it. Ours are designed digitally and milled in our in-house lab by a board-certified prosthodontist. CAD/CAM design, prosthodontic-level fit, no goopy impressions or lab guesswork.

Placing the restoration itself is straightforward and generally takes about an hour once the implant is ready. The crown has no nerve connection, so there's little to no discomfort afterward.

With proper care, an implant restoration is built to last, though like any dental work it can eventually need replacement as it wears. If it's the implant itself that's needed rather than a restoration for an existing one, that starts with the same comprehensive consultation for implant placement.
